Juan Diego Duque Salazar (1960)
Since 1985 his photographic work becomes known with a selective at the Regional Art Saloon at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Cartagena. Since then he has participated in different collective expositions in galleries and universities in the city.
In 1991 the Instituto Colombiano de Cultura at the IX Forum of Latin american Culture Ministers organizes an exposition of twenty known artists, where he participates with great success.
Between 1997 and 1998 participates at the Salón Regional de Fotografía
de Barranquilla.
In 1998 the book of the chronicler Tulio
Aristizábal Bernal S.J.; "Iglesias, Conventos y Hospitales
de la Epoca de la Colonia en Cartagena" is published, here Duke realizes prominent pictures that illustrate all the book and receives the best praises from the national critics.
In the year 2000 realizes a great individual retrospective at the Centro Iberoamericano de Formación de la Agencia Española
de Cooperación Internacional.
The critic and photographer Francisco Pinaud says the following about his photographic work:
"in the course of almost two decades, this photographer of ours hasn't allowed to be trapped by his job. He has known how to avoid the routine and find through his lens, pieces of live poetry, the fiery Caribbean, which we may see in the human and landscape polychrome of his work".
